WHAT IS DIALECTICAL BEHAVIORAL THERAPY?

DBT is evidence based psychotherapy designed to help clients heal through a multitude of mental health disorders with specific focus on mindfulness, regulating emotions, developing coping skills, healthy communication, and setting boundaries to build healthy relationships.

In a therapeutic setting, we can identify and reframe behaviors to shift focus towards motivation to change.  At times, motivation to change may be less than desired, but often times, the solution is to meet you where you are, where you would like to be, with less emphasis on where you feel you should be.

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

CBT is a strong, evidence-based approach outlined to help clients overcome a broad range of mental health obstacles. By placing focus on the direct connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors, this type of therapy empowers clients to recognize negative thoughts, while working to change negative thinking patterns that promote emotional distress.
